Focus on...Colombia!
When I met Lucy in February, 2012, she mentioned that her work with street gangs  in the mountains of  Bogota, Colombia, was getting better.  It was now "so safe" when walking to church that she was hardly robbed at gunpoint or knifepoint anymore !  To make a wholistic difference in the lives of poorer girls living in the area, she began a sewing ministry.  Little by little more youth became involved and classes began.  She showed me some of the beautiful artisan bags they had produced, and I thought that others might like them.  It didn't take long to find buyers in the U.S. who loved what they saw and bought all thirty bags!  Now the ministry has more funds to work with, the girls  see that their work has a market, and the love of Jesus Christ is being shown in practical ways.  What does God's love look like in Bogota, Colombia?  It looks like a sewing machine and a lady who stood up to guns and knives so that a church could make a difference.
Thank you for helping make this possible!
