count to 10
10 countries in 10 months. I might just reach that goal: Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica and Honduras. I've visited these in hopes of creating healthy development projects in the Latin American region. And how are things? Here is a run down:
- Paraguay is beginning its job skills training program, a ministry of the San Lorenzo Alliance Church in Asuncion. This has been a two year process that we've helped and encouraged.
- The SACDEM ministry (www.sacdem.org) in Argentina weekly works inside prisons. We are raising money for their Christmas outreach to prisoners (and their kids, ages 0-4, who live with them) and the mentally challenged.
- Some Colombian churches are very much on the ball with creating healthy, Bible based programs. We are working with a sowing skills project another one designed to help reintergrate former FARC members back into society.
-A water filter system was taught and implemented in Peru and we hope to go back and visit this year.
There are other possibilities: water filter projects in Argentina and Colombia, and a possible YWAM sponsored small business skills seminar in Guatemala City.
